Maria Kalitsounaki

Maria Kalitsounaki is a chemist educated at the University of Crete. During the past twelve years she has taught chemistry and undertaken numerous research projects in analytical chemistry for the University of Crete and other institutions. Maria has worked in the field of quality control for the Union of Agricultural Cooperatives of Monofatsi, Crete, and is currently the owner of a private chemical laboratory near Heraklion, specializing in analysis of wine, olive oil, water, soil and food as well as offering consultancy services to Cretan olive oil mills. She is a member of the olive oil tasting panel of Heraklion, a member of the Kalamata Olive Oil School and a judge at the annual Cretan olive oil competition.
