Maria Luisa Ambrosino


Maria Luisa Ambrosino is an olive oil expert with wide experience in tasting extra virgin olive oils in various capacities. A graduate in Agricultural Science of the University of Naples, she worked extensively as an agronomist before embarking on a PhD course on Food Biotechnology at the same university, with an emphasis on the Technology of Oils and Fats. Over the course of the past 20 years Ms Ambrosino gained in-depth knowledge of all aspects of the olive-oil industry, specializing in the certification of local products and their improvement through sensory analysis and consumer science. She is panel leader of the MiPAAF-approved tasting panel of the Naples Chamber of Commerce Chemical Laboratory for the sensory analysis of extra virgin olive oils and she has judged in many national and international competitions. Since 2006 she has been in charge of the Campania Region section of the ExtraBio olive oil guide. Besides authoring several scientific articles and monographs she has taught many courses on olive oil tasting in Italy and abroad (India, China, Russia, USA and Japan).
